Join us for the Mama Fu's Chilis for Charity Pepper Eating Challenge on Saturday, January 20 from 1-3p at The Grove at Southpark Meadows.
To promote the launch of Mama Fu’s new Spice Market Menu, Mama Fu’s presents a chili pepper eating challenge benefiting five Austin charities with a total prize pool of $25,000.
Each charity’s champion(s) will have to chew and swallow up to nine increasingly spicy peppers that span from a simple Jalapeño to the hottest pepper on Planet Earth, the Carolina Reaper. As the Scoville units of each level increase, so does the cash each organization can collect.
We encourage people to come cheer for the champions, sample some spicy Asian comfort food and of course, find out who can make it through the gauntlet of mouth-melting peppers for their charities!
The event will be hosted by Bama Brown from KVET 98.1 FM and will include pet adoptions from Austin Pets Alive, Spice Market samples, music from 102.3 The Beat's DJ Hella Yella and a few cries for help from the stage.
